The Durston 4" Guillotine Shear features a new innovative design that enhances the flexibility and precision of cutting sheet metal in jewelry making. Unlike traditional guillotines, this model features a uniquely designed stainless steel table and cutting guide that prevents the guillotine body from getting in the way and allows for cutting wider sheet metal even at 45° angles.
The scissors are equipped with an upgraded block with smooth bearing guides for quick manual locking and releasing to avoid unwanted movement and ensure precise repeat cuts. Its patent-pending square drive system utilizes a rack-and-pinion mechanism that transmits maximum torque from the lower drawbar directly to the hardened and tempered blades for a smoother, less labor-intensive cut than the older round-shaft design.
Cutting angles up to 60° can be set in 5° increments. The blades have four cutting edges and can make up to 20,000 cuts without rotation or replacement. The rugged cast iron body ensures durability and stability, and mounting holes secure the scissors to any work surface. Tested on copper and other non-ferrous metals, it can cut plates up to 1.5 mm thick and cut widths up to 4 inches.
