After 3 days of fierce competition, the 1st National Vocational Skills Competition was successfully closed on the evening of December 13th in Guangzhou. There were 2,557 players from 36 teams participating in the competition, and a total of 97 players won gold medals in 86 items. The closing ceremony centered around the "skills for the country to create a better life," "the spirit of anti-epidemic," "China has a great deal of skill in all walks of life," "to pay tribute to the new era towards a new glory," four chapters of the live skills show. Great master craftsmen, model workers, national technical experts, World Skills Competition champions and invited representatives from various industries across the country as awarding guests presented awards to the gold, silver and bronze medal winners of 86 items in the Competition.
It is understood that more than 630 players were selected to be shortlisted for the 46th WorldSkills Competition China Training Team. They will prepare for the 46th World Skills Competition to be held in Shanghai in 2022 through further training, assessment and selection, and compete with global players.
China is the country with the most complete industrial categories in the world, and the manufacturing industry has a huge demand for skilled personnel. It is understood that there are more than 170 million skilled talents in China, and from 2016 to 2019, the country's cumulative number of new high-skilled talents exceeded 10 million. Approved by the State Council, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Affairs has organized the National Vocational Skills Competition since 2020.
The 2nd National Vocational Skills Competition will be held in Tianjin. At the closing ceremony, Tianjin Mayor Liao Guoxun received the flag of the competition on behalf of Tianjin.
