This is my signature two must-have hammer face combo. It is perfect for small forging projects. When forging, the transverse hammerhead is used to stretch the metal in one direction. The Goldsmith's hammer face is used for forging radially, moving the metal outward, and flattening to remove marks left by the transverse hammer head. Neither face needs to be polished, just kept neat with Scotch Brite\u00ae or 220 sandpaper. No polishing is required unless this hammer is the final tool touching the piece.
