MA Series
\nIt is a round mushroom stake approximately 70 mm in diameter, made of 420 hardened stainless steel. The tapered shank legs fit the Fretz H-101 bench stand or the Fretz VH-101 vise stand. The design of the four stakes makes them ideal for forming or forging non-ferrous items or jewelry. They are sturdy tools that can be used with light or heavy duty hammers.
\nMA-1
\nThis is the flat version of the MA series. It can be used as a flat jewelry anvil or as a stake to form the bottom of a hollow vessel. It is a very useful first stake for forging heavy wire or ingots.
\nMA-2
\nIt is a low dome round mushroom stake. The low dome creates excellent curves for large chandeliers and small projects, thus giving the shape dimensional stability. Slightly domed shapes look less static than flat shapes and have less tendency to bend during use.
\nMA-3
\nIt is a more rounded round stake than the MA-2. This stake can be used to form shapes when more domed surfaces are needed.The MA-3 Mushroom Stake can be used as a hammer to strike metal. By placing the piece of metal on a sandbag and striking it with the domed surface while holding the shank foot, the metal will become cupped after a few blows. The metal can then be placed back in the holder and forged or textured with a variety of hammers.
\nMA-4
\nIt is a semi-circular domed mushroom pile. This shape is perfect for dramatic curves on large surfaces. On smaller surfaces, a semicircular shape is needed to give the piece a pronounced curve. A nylon or steel starting weight can be used to start small round or free shapes on surfaces. This technique is more effective than angled weight-lifting metal.
